Vortex Racing Marathon

What is F1 in schools/STEM Racing?

F1 in Schools is a competition for students to design, build, and race miniature Formula One cars. The competition involves students between the ages of 9 and 19, who come together in teams to create, design, and race miniature Formula One cars. They use computer software to build their designs and then test them out in a racing competition. These cars are powered by compressed air or CO2 cartridges and can reach speeds of up to 100 miles per hour on a 20-meter track. But it's not just about racing - teams also have to present their designs and business plans to a panel of judges. By participating, students learn valuable skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. They also develop technical skills, like working with design tools and understanding engineering principles. This experience prepares them for future careers in engineering and technology.

About us

We are the Vortex Racing Marathon team from Kalogeropoulou school, participating in the F1 in Schools/STEM Racing competition. This experience will enhance our knowledge of physics, its practical applications, and its links to engineering. We also hope to attract the attention of major companies and automakers like Renault Williams and Mercedes-AMG, following in the footsteps of previous participants. We believe the experiences gained from this competition will be invaluable and provide lasting memories.
